Event Description

Obviously this is not my event, but simply a reminder to watch a very special program.
Filmed over the course of more than six years at some of nature's most spectacular locales — from Acadia to Yosemite, Yellowstone to the Grand Canyon, the Everglades of Florida to the Gates of the Arctic in Alaska — The National Parks: America's Best Idea is nonetheless a story of people: people from every conceivable background — rich and poor; famous and unknown; soldiers and scientists; natives and newcomers; idealists, artists and entrepreneurs; people who were willing to devote themselves to saving some precious portion of the land they loved, and in doing so reminded their fellow citizens of the full meaning of democracy.
Check your local PBS listings for exact air time for your location.

The Mint Museum preview was great! Bill G had an impressive display there of the parks he has hiked. Ask him about it next time you see him. The series this week is great! Makes me want to read more on John Muir, not to mention hitting the road to go check these great places out myself.

My DVR is programmed for this. They are also rerunning the Lewis and Clark series so I'm recording that one as well

We'll be in Hawaii (Kauai), but if we remember we'll probably be able to get it. Sounds really interesting.
