Leslie, I would like to invite you to participate in the planting of longleaf pine trees as outlined under the events calendar dated February 13, 2010. This is a Saturday outing and will involve a drive to Southern Pines, NC located in the Sandhills of NC. There will be a similar opportunity on the following two Saturdays Feb 20 and Feb 27. I am working to help organize as large of a turn-out as possible. This event is being sponsored by The Nature Conservancy of North Carolina and will give all participants a first hand look at the longleaf pine ecosystem and an opportunity to offset part of our carbon footprint. You can call me at (980) 875-8900 for more details.
Thanks Leslie. That's great news! I will be driving my own car so that I can head to Spartanburg to visit my mom afterward. Also, I'm feeling 100% better. Thanks for asking! Wow, I'm so excited!
Thank you Leslie, I am a little late myself. Thank you so much for the sympathy card. That was very kind of you. It has been very hard for me but I know I will come around eventually. Love to all and Birdie and Maggie are singing up a storm! :)
Leslie,
I was really looking forward to the Orienteering outing, but the date snuck up on me and I see the event is now closed. If there's a chance that a spot opens up, please let me know (it would just be me). I can be there with as little as 1 hours advance notice (enough time to drive there)!
Thanks,
Christy Hill
Leslie, I'm having a little minor surgery on Friday the eighth. I think I'll be up for some orienteering on the 16th, but I can't be sure yet. I should be able to say definitively by Monday the 11th. Hope that's not too late.
Leslie, I had to change my RSVP on the Crowder's Mtn. field trip. That is the same day as Earth Day at CPCC, and I have volunteered to help from 10-3PM. Cindy:(

Lesle,
I got your message about the Pisgah trip. Please go to the Events tab, scroll down and select "next", to see the trip listed. These are listed by date, so the further out the event date, the deeper it's listed on the page.
I'm glad you and your husband can make it. It should be a great trip. We'll work out carpooling as it gets closer and we see how many are going.
I felt the same way about the chapter locations, so I made it more specific. Go back and take another look. Looking at everyone's pictures is one of my favorite things on this site, so do get some more and load them. I've never been to Yellowstone - hope to get there one day soon.
Hmmm. Well, I didn't see E. Charlotte. And I've always heard the Matthews area referred to as SE. So I don't know which is correct.
I haven't had time to do the picture thing yet. I might use the one Carol took of me with the hawk. I like all the pics Ernie has on his page. One day I might try to do something similar and then I'll put some of Buddy, too.
