Leigh Ayers Juvenile bluebirds, male bluebird and a second nest.

Since I have been out of work I have had lots of time to watch and learn from my resident bluebirds. My bluebird parents had a first nest starting with five eggs. I did not get to see them fledge, but only saw four fledgelings around, now they are down to two that regularly come to eat meal worms. These two juveniles are now helping mom feed the nestlings from the second nest. The male that comes around doesn't seem to be the male from the first nest or the past two years. Harry Schmeider The Bluebirds are Back

I had a male bluebird arrive early as February 23rd and now I have a pair of bluebirds today March 4, 2009. Both are going in and out of the nest box and really giving it a close inspection. Both looked very healthy and looked to be mature birds. I noticed the male was pecking at the top side of the next box at the roof area.
