Join the Capital Chapter's ADOPT-A-STREAM fall event! We adopted Walnut Creek from Jones Franklin Road to Gorman Road in 2008. This will be our third event. Please come prepared to pick up trash! This means dirty old cloths... boots and/or waders ...
There is one we used to see in the Florida Everglades name a Wurdemans (spelling?). It was supposed to be a cross between a great blue and white. I have never seen any up here, but global warming?? Who knows.
Used to have them very frequently in NY and Florida. I hear them here but do not see them too often. I have not seen them at a feeder. They are really neat little birds.
The Mission of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation Capital Area Chapter is to protect and enhance the natural resources and wildlife habitats of the NC Capital Area for all to enjoy.
NCWF Capital Chapter will have a booth at the 2nd Annual Planet Earth Celebration.
We need volunteers to help set up the backyard habitat booth, be at the booth during the day, and take the display down.
While you are there, learn about the many...
Hi Everyone! Thanks for the comments, obviously I have not been very active so far with this group. Am a member of the Captitol Chapter of NCWF and have been since it started. Have tried to talk to folks and groups about both being Habitat Stewards and listing their homes as Habitats afater comploeting my training. After the initial contacts of friends, etc, it seems hard to get in touch with folks about this. Any suggestions?
Welcome to Habitat Stewards! I hope the group becomes a great forum for idea sharing and motivation. Let me know if you have any suggestions for improvement on the site as a whole.
Hi, Sandy! Welcome to the network. Nice to have someone from Garner here. Are you a member of the Capital Chapter? I hope you will attend their next meeting - check out the "Events" tab.
