You Lake Norman group website is impressive. I too wish this one had more features and I'm hopeful that Ning will continue with upgrades so that we can be more interactive and dynamic. Your attendance numbers are amazing. We'll pass the site concerns on to the Ning folks to add to their upgrade list.
Thanks again, Jim.

Jim,
I wanted to check in and see how things are going with your chapter. On your Jan. 14th event listed on this site it would appear that you are the only one going but I know that won't be the case. Still, I tend to think of this network as a way to check out the activity from our members. If we can help with any questions about using this site or make some changes that might make it more appealing, we are interested to hear them. Hope you have great turnout. Your topic is great and the cause is important.

I did a cut/paste and referred viewers to Events, NCWF or you for more details. Hope it helps!

There are a couple of ways to get the word out about an event in addition to posting on the 'events' page. If you would like a broadcast email to go out to all Ning members, send the body of text in an email to HAWKNCWF@gmail.com and Ernie or I will get it out asap. Another way is to go to your group page, and click on "send message to group"--that's why its important to encourage members to join individual groups, so that they will get these kind of emails. But the best way to send the event to lots of people is to click on the event and under Event Details click on "invite more people". An invitation form comes up and you can type in addresses, cut and paste your email list or you can even import your address book. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions or need any help.

Our feeling at HAWK is that we will most likely let our original site go and use those funds to support our chapter mission. At this time, we feel the Ning site gives our members more opportunity to exchange information in a timely manner. It also allows all chapter members to network and share/participate in statewide environmental issues and projects. It's not perfect by any means, but if you take a look at what some other groups are doing by visiting the Ning home page, you will see some amazing organizational usage.
