Incredible photograph!! You know, I have yet to visit this place!! How bad is that??! Part of me has been waiting for everything to mature a bit so the landscape is filled in. I must put this on my calendar! Maybe I'll set up a NCWF group chapter ...

Thank you for your welcome. We are excited to relocate to NC from Maryland once our home is completed. I will definitely check out all the available information in planning for our wildlife habitat. Once in NC we look forward to becoming active with NCWF.

Okay, Ernie, I found that you could grab photos directly from Flickr, so I took your advice and uploaded a few photos!

I tried to leave a message earlier, i don't see it. My telephone number is 919-791-4307. The National web site is canon envirothon.org. Do a search. our state web site is ncenvirothon.org. It is based on 5 resource areas ( soils/land use, forestry, aquatic ecology, wildlife, and current environmental issues) the students study these areas and take a written test. Then they are given a realistic natural resource problem and have 10 hours to develop a solution and they give a 20 minute oral presentation on their solution before a panel of judges. These judges for the oral presentation is where we need people. Thanks for asking.

We are seeing a lot of students learn more about natural resources through the Envirothon. We have tree id, animal id, macroinvertebrate id, id animals through animal signs, wildlife habitat, riparian buffers, non-point pollution, best management practices, water quality, soil quality, groundwater, air quality, etc.

Thanks, Ernie. Yes, I am interested in participating in HAWK events. Please do keep me posted. Been busy with my garden this spring and just got a spot at the Matthews Community Garden which I think will be a lot of fun. Also really interested in camping, hiking stuff too. Please keep me in the email chain. Thanks! Jeff

Ernie - thanks for writing. I am very selective in my donations with my artwork - but please let me know if there is an event with a live or silent auction I may be interested in.

Also, I am not actually sure if I am actually a NCWF member. I am an active member of NC CAMO and receive emails from NCWF. I am not sure if this makes me a member or not (probably not). Dick Hamilton, who runs NC CAMO and was the Director of the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, is my brothers father in law and keeps me active in NC CAMO.
