I'm a Master Composter so I will be leading the workshop. The MC program is sort of like the Master Gardener program but stresses sustainable practices Check to see if your county has a master composter program. If not, let me know and let's see what we can figure out. $15-$20 to provide a wire bin (your cost about $5) and teach them how to use it would be a great fundraiser. Of course, you need to attract ppl with a yard. I have composting videos (Parts 1 & 2) to give you an idea of what it takes to make your own compost. The workshops we teach here are at schools and County libraries so that we can actually build a pile on site and then someone at the facility maintains it for us (and uses the compost on site).
Hi Erin- Carol asked that I forward a copy of our donor letter to you. Hawk donor letter.wps
This is a WPS file ( for cheapos who don't buy Office). If you can't open it send me a regular email at dfuse180@yahoo.com and I'll paste a copy in there for you.
Thx for your comment on the Composting workshop and I highly recommend you look into hosting one If you charged $15-20 you could turn it into a little fundraiser for PACT. Right now, composting is the hot topic. Not only because the leaves are falling but more ppl are getting into the green movement ('bout time!). Let me know if I can help you set something up.
Erin, It was a joy visiting with your group last night at your kick off meeting of the PACT. You and the rest of your leadership group have done a wonderful job getting this group of wildlife activists together. I look forward to working with you and PACT to improve the future of wildlife together, and to have a little fun doing it. Thank you so much for stepping up as a leader. Your friends at NCwF and NWF zfd thrilled to have such an energetic new leader. You and your groups energy energize us.
Cheers,

Thanks for the kind words! I look forward to meeting you. If you want to come down early, we could go to dinner before the meeting. I am excited that a new chapter is coming on board in your area. Love the name too!

I'll be in the HAWK habitat steward class as soon as I get back, then perhaps we can talk about meeting face to face. Lots to tell you about forming a chapter! Until then, warm regards, Steve
Welcome, Erin! Glad to see more members up that way. This is a great site for networking across the state on wildlife and environmental activities. I hope you find it useful. Nice picture!
