I am interested in wildlife preservation. I would like to intern/volunteer/work in this field before I chose a college/path to degree. I need advice.

I would like to volunteer time and energy toward the preservation of our state's environmental resources - I live in Winston Salem but would be willing to travel if given advance notification.

Jamie and Katie, I can provide you with a number of resources that may help you connect with volunteer opportunities. Most of these will let you search, or you can contact a representative. You could also contact your nearest NCWF Chapter. I knowk the HAWK group is asking for volunteers just about all the time.

Good Luck!!

Take a Walk on the Wild Side - Friday March 5th 8am - 5pm - NC State Fairgrounds in Raleigh NC - is seeking volunteers to conduct an interactive activity for youth age 10-18 related to wildlife conservation. Format will be 6 45-minute classes that day. What's in My Backyard; Birding; Practical conservation projects that kids can start onsite and take home with them to continue are all ideas that would fit this conservation education theme; but don't be limited to these ideas. Venue leads (willing to develop and conduct an activity), event volunteers (willing to be onsite, organize and support events set up by others) and publicity volunteers (available to spread the word thru public schools, homeschools, and youth groups) are all being sought. Thanks for sending an e-mail with your interest to Judy Gardner at ncqdma@yahoo.com

Looking for assistance and guidance in pitching a school yard habitat to my son's school (Back Creek Christian Academy - Charlotte, NC). Preliminary discussions have gone well, but they need more details. Hate to by the book from the federation if this doesn't fly. Any suggestions? If this does go through, then will also be looking for volunteers.
