Police estimates indicate about 4,000 people attended the "Charlotte: Clean & Green" event which took place on CPCC's Central Campus. Could this turnout indicate growing support and interest in renewable energy, conservation, and recycling?
4000 people?!?!? Congratulations! Sorry I missed it. I was in S Texas identifying 107 birds in 4 days! I hope we have turned the corner because seeing all those beautiful birds migrating thru the area this weekend highlighted the need to preserve, protect, restore habitat for them and all wildlife. Its a fragile system and we can't afford to mess it up much more than we already have.
This is a huge concern.
Also, do these events turn out to be "Preaching to the Choir" programs? I constantly see the same group of people attending these things.
How do we reach the larger population that really needs to hear this message? Many leading scientists have concluded that we need a global shift in behavior now, in order to stop the destruction we are causing to this planet. Groups like our NCWF Chapters are helping to promote conservation and other "earth friendly practices". How do we influence "Joe & Jane Consumer" who don't come to these programs?
