NC Wildlife Federation Networking Site

To advocate the conservation and enhancement of all wildlife and its habitat.

Has anyone done a rain garden in thier yard? We are starting to plan one and could use some tips or possibly be able to visit one that is completed. We have selected the site and researched some on the internet. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Jill:
A good place to get info on rain gardens is the mecklenburg soil & water conservation district. they have a program to install them in homeowners yards. They can be reached 704.336.2455. There is a great example of a rain garden at the County Services Center - 700 n. tryon st. (where the soil & water offices are located)

Jill, there's another rain garden at the Nature Museum that you could look at to get ideas.

Hi, guys. CPCC-Levine has an Eagle Scout project pending approval for a rain garden. As it gets underway I'll post the progress.
