Event Description

The NCWF - Capital Chapter would like to invite you to join us for our 2nd annual Canoe-a-thon down the Neuse River in Raleigh, NC.

Recommended minimum $50 donation per participant

This event is similar to a walk-a-thon and each participant is encouraged to seek sponsorships. The planned route is 10.3 miles. How many people can you get to sponsor you at $5/mile?
For every $100 raised, your name will be entered into a drawing; $1000 raised equals 10 chances!

Remember the more $$$ you raise, the better your chances!!!

Snacks, drinks, and t-shirts will be provided
All participants are expected to wear a personal floatation device (PDF). If NCWF is providing your boat, you will be issued a PDF and paddle(s) as well.

You may be asked to partner with someone depending on your skill level as a paddler. Please understand that we want everyone to have an enjoyable paddle down a beautiful river. We will team our first timers with experienced paddlers, so we can all get down the stream in a reasonable time and as safely as possible. We may launch as one large group or several small groups depending on site conditions. Groups are expected to stay together and enjoy the paddle as wildlife enthusiasts. This event is not a race.

Planned route:
Neuse River from below Falls Lake Dam to Buffaloe Creek Road. It is a beautiful paddle. If you haven’t been down this stretch of river, you will be shocked at what a beautiful resource we have right in Raleigh! The route is subject to change if needed for environmental and/or safety reasons.

***Please go to http://www.ncwf.org/Canoe/index.php and complete a registration form if you would like to participate.***
